PJSC "Cryogenmash" has developed and manufactured a new nitrogen cryogenic air separation plant, as well as a unique storage system for liquid nitrogen

03.04.2018 SOCAR Polymer, the "subsidiary" of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), is completing the construction of a new polypropylene plant in the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park. At the initial stage, new production capacities for Socar Polymer polyethylene will be 120 thousand tons, and for polypropylene - 180 thousand tons per year. By 2021, the total capacity will reach 570 thousand tons. For this project, PJSC "Cryogenmash" (part of the OMZ Group) has developed and manufactured a new nitrogen cryogenic air separation unit, as well as a unique storage system for liquid nitrogen based on vertical tanks each of 250 m3 capacity on seismic design basis. All equipment was developed in Balashikha town located near Moscow; tests are completed prior to commissioning. This is a vivid example of an export project for the supply of Russian science-intensive industrial products of world-class standards to the standards of the leading foreign EPC companies for Socar Polymer (Azerbaijan). This is ААzh-3,5 cryogenic air separation nitrogen plant producing 3,500 cubic meters of nitrogen per hour, as well as liquid nitrogen storage and gasification system based on two cryogenic tanks each of 250 m3-capacity, where the tanks vertical design was used for the first time. - the tender was held in competition with other companies being the leaders of the European market from France, Germany, Italy. The tank РЦВ-250 has screen-vacuum isolation and is designed for installation in seismic regions with seismicity up to MSK magnitude 9 earthquake.
