During the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum “Cryogenmash” has submitted the parameters of tank-container being developed for “Gazprom Helium Service” LLC designed to the liquid helium transportation
An agreement between the companies concerning the cooperation has been signed in 2023, and during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum the companies have presented the technical parameters of the product.
The tank container Helium CM 42 being manufactured by JSC "Cryogenmash" is a unique Russian product. The temperature of liquid helium is almost minus 269 degrees Celsius, which is only 4.2 degrees above the absolute zero temperature. The used solutions make possible to achieve a drainage-free storage period of liquid helium of at least 45 days and a mass of the transported product of 4,540 kg.
“Cryogenmash" has a wide experience in the development and production of storage and transportation systems for cryogenic products, including liquid hydrogen and helium. Under the agreement with “Gazprom Helium Service” LLC, we produce the Russian liquid helium transportation tank-container HELIUM CM 42, which will at least match the world's best models in terms of its parameters. This year the development of design documentation and the purchase of all materials are finalized, and the production and certification of the prototype is planned for 2025. This is an interesting project that gives us the opportunity to use our knowledge and experience in the field of ultra-low temperatures to manufacture a product that is in high demand in Russia,” says Evgeny Matveev, General Director of JSC "Cryogenmash".
